Why are existential questions of being, interdependence, and coexistence, vital in these times of readjustment of powers and values?

A response from Laura Restrepo at MIT: Because we realize that there is not such a thing as an individual destiny. The crisis of the world is not only a crisis of scarcity of resources, excess consumption, or inequality but a rupture that derives from a fragmented vision of the world, a civilization that has grown too big with its head disconnected from the body. The crisis of the earth is the crisis of our relationship with the earth when we stop recognizing ourselves as part of the earth.
